Bradley comes from Old English brād, broad, and lēah, a wood or a clearing in one. Many villages in England carry the name, and people from them became Bradleys. The surname later turned into a first name.
Well-known bearers include the actor Bradley Cooper and the cyclist Bradley Wiggins.
In Ireland Bradley reached the list in 1987. It had its best year in 2015, with 47 boys, at number 130. It has been quieter since, with 10 boys in 2025. It was more popular in Northern Ireland, where it reached number 68 in 1998.
