Keeva is the Irish name Caoimhe written as it sounds. Caoimhe comes from the Irish word caomh, meaning dear, gentle or precious, and it shares that root with the boys’ name Caoimhín, better known as Kevin. Some parents choose the Keeva spelling so the name is easy to read outside Ireland, where “ao” and “mh” can puzzle people.
The CSO counts Keeva and Caoimhe as separate names. Caoimhe is by far the more common of the two, so the figures here are only a small part of the story.
