Kaiden is a modern name, one of several spellings of Caden and Kayden. It belongs to the family of rhyming names that grew around Aiden and Jayden in the English-speaking world from the 1990s. There is no settled meaning behind it. Some link Caden to an Irish or Welsh surname, but that link is not well documented, so the meaning is best left open.
Kaiden first appears in the CSO records in 2009. Its best year was 2014, when 33 boys were named Kaiden and it reached number 181. It has stayed steady since, with 19 boys given the name in 2025.
The CSO counts Kaiden, Kayden, Caden and Jayden as separate names, so the sound is more common than any single spelling suggests. In Northern Ireland Kaiden did even better for a time, reaching number 99 in 2012.
