The story of Nevaeh
Nevaeh is the word heaven written backwards. It is a new name, not an old one. It took off after 2000, when the American rock singer Sonny Sandoval gave it to his baby daughter, and it quickly became a well-used name in the United States.
Because it is a made-up name, there is no older history to tell. Its appeal lies in the hidden word and its soft sound.
Nevaeh first appears in the CSO records in 2004. It has grown in fits and starts since, and 2025 was its best year so far, with 39 girls. That put it at number 118 in the CSO table for the year. In Northern Ireland its best rank was number 98 in 2022.
